Image Analysis Collaboration

  • Based on the length and type of the project, IAC offers to types of image analysis collaboration.
  • Development Projects: Short-term, development projects designed to help with image analysis needs.
  • Research Projects: Long-term research collaboration designed to perform in-depth research and methods development.
  • To learn more about our active and past projects, check out our Projects page. You can also check out our Research Interests page to learn about our research interest.

  • Example 1: I submitted a manuscript at a journal and the reviewers came back with some feedback asking to quantify some of my claims. --> Let's discuss a Development Project.
  • Example 2: I have developed a new microscope which acquires complex images. I need to build image analysis pipeline to analyze the data and measure the effectiveness of the device. --> Let's discuss a Research Collaboration.

  • More details on these are provided below. In collaboration, we usually take a more hands-on approach and perform the analysis ourselves. If you are only looking for guidance, please check out our consultation page.

Development Projects

  • Purpose: Designed to address researchers' immediate image analysis needs, these projects offer support for developing image analysis pipelines, coding workflows in Python, and translating or optimizing existing code. We also assist as independent analysts to assess experimental outcomes, such as drug efficacy.
  • Timeline: Short-term, usually less than 3-months or quarter-FTE.
  • Available for: Open to all researchers, including HMS affiliates, Harvard affiliates, and industry partners.
  • Fees: Based on project scope and affiliation.*

Research Projects

  • Purpose: Designed for collaborative research projects, that focus on advancing scientific discovery through the development of image analysis methods. We collaborate from the ground up, working together on everything from project ideation to execution and grant writing.
  • Timeline: Long-term, usually over 6-months or half-FTE.
  • Available for: Open to all researchers, including HMS affiliates, Harvard affiliates, and industry partners.
  • Fees: Based on project scope and affiliation.*
