Originally a biologist, Maria wants to apply deep learning and statistical data analysis to bioimaging data. She received her PhD from the University of Cambridge and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), where she developed a computational tool to benchmark super-resolution image analysis methods. Maria has a Bachelor and Master’s degree in biology from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, but was sent on a different path after a Master’s project in bioimage analysis.
